What is The Parent Partnership?

At Bournes Green Schools, our children are at the centre of everything we do. We value the support and input of our families and place great importance on the collaborative effort between school and home in ensuring our children achieve the best they can. 

The Parent Partnership meetings are a valuable way for the school to share information about the way we operate and how we help our children learn and develop. It is also a platform for parents to share ideas and views that may help the school continue to develop and improve. 

Terms of Reference

Aims  

• to work together to improve the education and opportunities provided for our children.
• to share information, knowledge and skills.
• to meet in a mutually supportive environment.
• to further improve communications between parent/carers and staff/governors  

Powers

The Parent Partnership Forum does not have any statutory responsibilities, duties or powers in the school. 

Membership 

Only parents/carers of children currently at Bournes Green Schools can be members.  We also extend the opportunity for members of the Academy Committee, Trust Central Team or SECAT Trustees and Members. 

Meetings 

Parent Partnership meetings will be informal and held each term. Please email juniors@bournesgreen.secat.co.uk if you have any ideas or suggestions that you would like included within a future meeting. All requests will be considered, although we cannot guarantee every request will be used.  

Focus of discussions  

Anything related to improving the school and further developing the partnership between the school and parents. Items not open to discussion are concerns or complaints involving individual children, families or members of staff. These should always be directed to a more personal meeting away from a wider audience.
