School Lettings

Bournes Green Schools serve the community of Thorpe Bay and its surrounding areas, and as a school, we are keen to offer lettings to individuals, clubs or programmes of study which we feel are aligned to our school values and beliefs. Our commitment to external lettings is based on a number of important factors:

1. Financial Support for the School: Renting out school facilities to the local community can generate additional revenue for the school which we would reinvest into our building and wider resources.

2. Enhanced Community Relationships: Allowing community groups to use school spaces fosters a stronger relationship between Bournes Green Schools and the area we serve. This engagement promotes a sense of pride, partnership, and shared responsibility for the well-being and development of our community.

3. Increased Use of Resources: School facilities, like sports fields, halls, or classrooms, are often underutilized after school hours. External lettings ensure these spaces are being used to their full potential, making better use of taxpayer money.

4. Support for Local Groups and Businesses: Many local groups, such as youth clubs, sports teams, and small businesses, may struggle to find affordable, accessible venues. Bournes Green can offer a safe, affordable space, which supports these groups and their growth.

5. Encouragement of Healthy Lifestyles: Renting halls, fields, and playgrounds to local sports clubs encourages physical activity and healthy habits within the community. This aligns with our school commitment for the ongoing good health and fitness of children and adults.

6. Learning and Volunteering Opportunities: External groups that use our facilities may offer opportunities for children and young people to get involved as volunteers or participants, providing a practical learning experience.
